Project on bridging the #competence gap in emerging countries...

Youth Inc. is happy to cooperate and be part of the project on identifying how employers’ organizations and (groups of) companies do in order to bridge the #competence gap in emerging countries by the UM Consulting team at the Maastricht University together with Dutch Employers Cooperation Programme DECP in the Netherlands.
 
We shared about our Bridging the Gap - Digital Skills Matching Internship Program as an intervention to bridge the competency gap, which is a project initiative that is so necessary to pilot test in Mongolia for the right target group by learning the best practices; coordinating and collaborating with the right partners, individuals and institutions with systematic and integrated approach, which then can be scalable to other emerging countries as this challenge is both local and global.
 
Based on the major research studies and reports including The Global Competitiveness Report 2019 by the World Economic Forum, Labor Force Survey Report 2018 by the National Statistics Office of Mongolia, Labor market demand barometer survey 2019 and the Alumni Employment Survey by the Research Institute of Labor and Social Protection shows that there is a Big NEED to bridge the Competence Gap in Mongolia as there is a Big Gap that exists between employees and employers: Companies spend a long duration of time trying to recruit the perfect employees and there is still a shortage of work, while the graduates face difficulty in finding an appropriate job; gap facing a new generation of Mongolian workers and the mismatch between evolving employer needs and the skill sets provided by standard, higher education in Mongolia. Also, gap due to the shortage of professionals in soft skills and right attitude.
